(More customer reviews)First, I have to say I used to have a cheaper opaque projector when I was majoring in art in college. I gave it away and felt that an opaque projector was of no use to me.
Many years and blood and sweat and tears later, I now have an art studio and sell my paintings professionally... at a painting workshop a few months ago, the instructor used one of these and I fell in love. Now it's not only my gadget I couldn't live without, I gave one to my artsy mom as well for Christmas and she cried she was so happy! She has renewed her interest in painting that had lain dormant for years because all the hard work of transferring the image and enlarging it on a canvas or paper via graphs and measuring is now extinct...she simply uses the opaque projector and transfers it in seconds! (even onto small canvases; it does that too.)
I did notice the review about the blurry image if enlarging. Much like binoculars, you simply turn the round ring that circles the lens to focus and your image comes quickly into view, crisp and sharp. You do have to focus it though in order to get the image and image size you need, like any opaque projector. I do all my paintings with the opaque projector and have had no issue with clarity personally on this model.
How to use it? If you have a photograph or drawing, or magazine picture or clip art, or something you have designed on the computer, simply slip it into the top of the projector. This model allows for larger pics to be placed inside. (If your picture is too big, just place it in the projector in sections and transfer each section seperately) Then dim the lights. I use mine in a pretty well lit art studio but it projects the image onto your canvas or paper or wall with light so, as with any opaque projector, less light does help. You will see a clear picture on your canvas or medium and you can simply trace the lines and get it perfectly onto your canvas the first time with no adjustments! Turn the lights back on and you have a perfectly flawlessly drawn image to paint or color in...it's like the professional artist's coloring book maker! ha
I now spend all my creative time painting rather than getting the sketch just right! I take photos and transmit them to canvasses or do computer renderings and transmit them and I have even taken pop art clip art images and tweaked them to make paintings.
I also use the opaque projector to do kid's murals and high-end wall murals for clients. For example, I put pictures of storybook characters in the projector and projected them onto the wall and painted them in. So eaaaaasy!
I teach classes in the evening and when I want to transmit a drawing in seconds onto my flipcharts for illustrations, I use my projector.
After using the projector for a month I got the stand. This has made a world of difference. You can move it up and down and angle it so smoothly as you go about doing your drawing. This makes it all so much easier. Especially if you have to do the painting in sections or need it at a certain height.

When we opened the boxes and removed the chairs from the boxes, we noticed a significant amount of damage on the legs caused mainly by shipping. At closser inspection, we also found poor craftmanship such as excessive glue on some of the joints, as well as the bolts that were sent were not long enough to fasten the front legs. I e-mailed the factory and after sending several pictures of the problems that have agreed to take the chairs back. I am waiting for them to send me a return shipping lable which they agreed to do but have not received it yet. I certainly will not purchase any additional items from this vendor.

(More customer reviews)This stool is a superb product. I agree with the earlier review which said that the photo doesn't do it justice. The wood and leather are beautiful.
This isn't so much a bar stool as a piece of furniture. It is extremely well made. It feels heavy and substantial, and it's very comfortable.
One thing that you can't see in the photo is that the chair back is also made of leather. It looks very much like the front. This was a pleasant surprise.
Beware, this stool is fairly wide. The arms are 27" wide at their widest. We were glad that we ordered only three rather than four. If you aren't sure, I recommend buying fewer and ordering one more later if you need it.
Before buying these, we went to a local bar stool store. We could not find any stools we liked, and certainly none in the $200-400 range. This particular stool, if it were being sold in that store, would have gone for $600 apiece or more.... EACH.
And we looked at hundreds (thousands?) of stools online and couldn't find anything to compare.
This stool is simply an incredible bargain. We were able to get all three to our door for under $600 TOTAL. Just amazing. And shipping took only a week or so. My wife and I wholeheartedly recommend this stool.

Queen Anne Console Table Review

The packet containing the screws and metal circles had come undone and the pieces had all spilled out. After combing through the various layers of cardboard packing I managed to locate all of them and put the table together. It is now stury, attractive and useful.

Wolfgang Puck WPIDC010 Induction-Powered Cooktop Stove Review

(More customer reviews)This review should properly cover 2 areas: Induction technology and this particular stove. On both these fronts, this item does very well.
1. Induction cooking technology - only once in a great while do you come across a technology that actually is as good in practice as it sounds on paper. I was surprised by how well this technology works. I am big fan of this now, having used it for 2 days (have to convince my wife to use this more often). Amazing how quickly the pot gets hot, and how quickly any change in the temperature setting translates into a decrease in the cooking heat. This is almost magical. I am surprised more people dont use induction stoves more often- I talked to a few friends about this stove, and none of them had heard of this. On top of everything, I am sure this is a great way to reduce your carbon footprint.
2. This particular stove: So far, in 2 days, I have no complaints. I looked at all the options on Amazon, and was puzzled for a while as to which one to buy. Eventually, I bought this as it was the cheapest of its kind on Amazon- and I found this to have 4 stars (of 5) on the Macy's website. I was a little afraid of what it would be like. However, it performs as promised. It has temperature settings from 150F - 400F (increments of 50F), and 1400W to 600W (increments of 200W). You can choose either way to control heat. I make tea/boil milk on this, and I can make tea in a record of 8 minutes. On my heavy duty gas burner, I would easily take 15 minutes, and I am sure it is extremely inefficient to boot.
The only downside is that it has a rather loud fan (like a microwave). Not a major downside, but this aspect was just a little unexpected.
The other downside (of the technology, not this particular stove) - you need new pots and pans. I had to spend 50$ getting a new set of iron pots. However, these were not non-stick (actually, they are non-stick..they just dont work as well as the usual non-stick pots and pans), so the cleaning is a little more cumbersome.

Can O Worms Composter Review

(More customer reviews)Everyone should keep a worm bin; and the Can-O-Worms works well. I keep mine right in my kitchen, so I can easily deposit vegetable debris it it. I have it sitting on a round dollie, so I can roll it around, since I have a tiny kitchen. I recommend the dollie to anyone who buys a worm bin of any kind; because once you have filled your bin with worms and vegetable debris it will weigh a lot.
It takes a while for a worm bin to produce enough worm castings to put out in the garden; but in the mean time the bin is constantly producing "worm tea," which plants love. The "worm tea" keeps potted plants happy, even though their roots are confined. I advise leaving the spigot on the Can-O-Worms open all the time with a collection vessel under it. That way the "tea" is constantly dripping out, and does not fill up the sump. With the dollie, you can put the vessel under the spigot on the dollie, so the whole thing rolls around together.
Although at first it might repulse you a bit to keep rotting vegetable matter around -- especially in the kitchen -- I have found that my initial repulsion has given way to fascination with the transformation going on inside the bin. Like a caterpillar transforming into a butterfly inside its cocoon, your vegetable detritus transforms into sweet, rich earth inside your worm bin. I have come to view my worms as miracle-workers.
And here is a tip that you won't find anywhere else: to keep your worm bin from emitting any unpleasant odors, be sure to put plenty of parsley stems in the bin, along with the rest of your vegetable debris. It will do you good to eat plenty of parsley leaves, and the stems will keep your worm bin from smelling.
I recommend the Can-O-Worms over any of the other worm bins I researched, because of its sturdy construction and the fact that it is made from recycled plastic. That gratifies my environmental conscience. However, I understand that in cold climates people who want to keep worm bins must keep their bins indoors, because the worms cannot tolerate freezing temperatures. People in cold climates who want to keep a worm bin outdoors can get a special heated worm bin from certain Internet sites.
I have kept compost most of my adult life. Although I still would prefer to keep a traditional compost pile, the restrictions of apartment living -- with close neighbors and little yard space -- render a compost pile out of the question for me any more. Other apartment dwellers will find the Can-O-Worms the ideal alternative to traditional composting.
