I read the negative reviews for this SOLAR pump (some even complain that it only works when it is sunny - - - duh). I have had my first one now for three years and I love it. It couldn't be easier to set up - a couple of screws, stick the panel into ground (it can also be mounted) and put the thingy in the birdbath and VOILA!
It isn't a fountain but it is perfect for a birdbath. I played with all the different heads that send the water up higher - about 8 to 10 inches - and opted to just use it with no head and let it bubble to a height of about 4 inches on sunny days and the birds go nuts for it - sometimes they sit right on top of it . . . bet that feels good on a hot day!
I confess that I am not that diligent about cleaning it out around the filter BUT this little pump is so forgiving that it keeps going anyway. Occasionally it needs to be taken apart if some debris gets in (you can tell when it happens because it makes a funny humming sound) but the maintenance is so minimal that only a birdbrain would find it a chore.
I have had the water wigglers in birdbaths - they're okay but they get funky and rusty - that is why I am buying my second and third solar pump to replace the wigglers in the other baths.

Hunter 27186 Fan/Light Wall Mount Control Review

(More customer reviews)So here's the deal. I installed this switch for the fan I just installed, lots of work and was excited when it was done and worked. Not being an electrician and all of that. Several days later I would come into the room and lo and behold it would be on. Then I installed a light kit, imagine waking up at midnight and seeing the light come on all by its' lonesome.
I called Hunter, the problem is a common one and really stems from the poorly written instructions and the fact that the symptom is not addressed in the trouble shooting guide.
The switch is a radio frequency device and therefore stray radio signals bouncing around the house, through the hood, etcetera can trigger its operation. This was a common problem in early garage door openers and car alarms, those manufacturers fixed it by having the devices reset a new code after each use.
Your fix, is to remove the switch from the wall, pull the battery then pull the fan down and reset the dip switches in the receiver. I may take more than one try as there is no way you can easily pinpoint what is triggering your switch. The complete instructions on how to do this are in the installation instructions which may also be downloaded from the Hunter website.

However the description on their own web site neglects to mention the need to install an electronic module inside the fan. They also don't state which fan models (In their own Line) this module will not fit. We bought a Ceiling hugger model and there was no room indide the fan for the module, it had to be located in the junction box above the fan. So while the fan control works great and as described there might be a bit of work involved wiring and installing the communications module.

I live in an apartment building on the second floor, with a deck outside the living room. Since I don't have a yard, I decided to create a "garden" with solar lilies, tulips, pansies, cattails, globes, butterflies, dragonflies, and solar fiber optic sprays (which sway in the breeze). Almost every single "stalk" has a bare space of about 6" to 7" between the top of the solar cell and the bottom of the "flower" or globe or butterfly/dragonflies. This grass can be manipulated in the degree of spread and covers that bare space perfectly. I think anybody using garden solar lights would be delighted with the addition of this "grass." (In addition, the shipping service/speed was about as quick -- actually, quicker -- as anybody could reasonably expect.) It is my understanding this company has just begun using Amazon Marketplace. They possess quality of product and quality of service, so do not, I repeat, do not, let their relatively short period of working through Amazon be a deterrent. They are seemingly a company concerned with customer service, and that is increasingly hard to find in today's modern world.

I had the Hampton Bay 300 watt model....DO NOT BUY HAMPTON BAY TRANSFORMERS. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS VERY BAD AND THERE IS NOT EVEN ANY WARRANTY OR CUSTOMER SERVICE INFO IN WITH THE PRODUCT, as I found out when it broke and going to Home Depot for help was a joke. Anyway, I am happy so far with the Malibu and it seems that it has a bigger transformer than the Hampton and the overall construction is better. Just to convince you of how bad the Hampton Bay customer service is try doing a search for them online, you'll see.
