(More customer reviews)I am an engineer who has been completely disgusted with the home lighting situation. There are no standards and many misstatements and counterdictions at the stores. I own a Minolta flash meter which accurately measures a lights color temperature. I've tried the bulb technology at Walmart, Sams Club Home Depot and Lowes. The most glaring examples:
1) yellow light is called soft white (2700)
2) very blue light is called daylight 6000-6500)
3) 12W LED lights go for as much as $90!
4) Some bulbs are advertised as white but the chart on the back shows its yellow. Complete incompetence.
Here is not what to avoid: all (harsh washed-out blue) daylight, and (yellow) soft white. While GE Reveal offers somewhat better clarity its still overpriced and quite yellow.
Full spectrum (5000-5500) bulbs are a step-up but stores offer a very limited selection, like one! The Home Depot full 100w spectrum's beats the Lowe's Ott-Lite. The best compromise are the PAR38 indoor 23-27w 3500K reflector lights (which actually measure 4100K), especially for recessed kitchen spot lighting.
On the LED front Sam's Club carries a 520 lumen, 4100K, 9 LED PAR38 reflector which has a easily noticeable smoother light spectrum. Interesting for the one light on in the kitchen in the evening. The equivalent $70 LED lights at the hardware store are hardly a bargain, as the Sam's is $20! However its Color Retention index (CRI)is only 74.
The best of all are lights are these 5500K Alzo's. I've installed a 45w in the kitchen pantry and the color of the food boxes really pop. Food looks like it does in the magazines. The clarity is first rate (however 27w should be sufficient). They are the reference to which others are to be compared. My wife has not complained even when they are on at night-time. This is a first.
Skin tones in the bathroom look very natural. A first again.
Color temperature alone is not the sole basis to buy a bulb as a high CRI is also required. The Alzo's come in at 92, which is very high. Most manufactures do not even list this measurable figure (assume because its too low).
Well gotta go as my wife wants one in her closet now, as shes hates the other fluorescent lights which cause eye-strain. Should I install a 45w and blow her away?

(More customer reviews)The pan worked out well. It requires one box cake mix. My issues with the pan are first, it was extremely difficult to grease and flour the pan. Second, after it bakes it was hard to see where some of the details where, such as the lightning bolt above the tire, the headlights, the lightning bolt with the number 95, and the number 95 itself. Third, for some reason they placed the purchase logo right over the most complicated area of the design. There is a smaller photo inside so you can still see, but it was a bit frustrating. The cake turned out great none the less. I realized after purchasing this pan there would be no place to write Happy Birthday for my son. I also thought the pan looked small, so I baked a larger square cake base to set this one on. It created a neat 3-D effect, and I was able to write Happy Birthday and create a neat Radiator Springs backdrop. Happy Baking!

(More customer reviews)These lights are different from any other solar light that I've seen during all of my research in finding solar lights to build my "solar light garden." I live in an apartment building on the second floor, with a deck outside the living room. Since I don't have a yard, I decided to create a "garden" with solar lilies, tulips, pansies, cattails, globes, butterflies, dragonflies, and solar fiber optic sprays (which sway in the breeze). Almost every single "stalk" has a bare space of about 6" to 7" between the top of the solar cell and the bottom of the "flower" or globe or butterfly/dragonflies. This grass can be manipulated in the degree of spread and covers that bare space perfectly. I think anybody using garden solar lights would be delighted with the addition of this "grass." (In addition, the shipping service/speed was about as quick -- actually, quicker -- as anybody could reasonably expect.) It is my understanding this company has just begun using Amazon Marketplace. They possess quality of product and quality of service, so do not, I repeat, do not, let their relatively short period of working through Amazon be a deterrent. They are seemingly a company concerned with customer service, and that is increasingly hard to find in today's modern world.

I've been testing other bulbs. For vanity and lamps (Alzo does make any) these offer a VERY uniform ball of nice white 5000K glow. I ordered 12 for my new house's bathrooms:
Maxlite 14 Watt G30 Globe CFL DL SKM14EGDL
For kitchen these are now the best 5000K PAR lights. Not as high of color quality as Alzo, but they don't make reflector lights!
Maxlite 23 Watt CFL R40 Flood Day Lite SKR423FLDL
In summary best home lights are the Photo CFL which offer both a 5000-5500K range with a CRI over 90. Further these bulbs allow for brighter rooms, as compared to hardware store types. That is, the more pleasing light allows for greater brightness levels, so go for the 45watt bulbs in larger pantries or rooms.
Thanks go to Amazon and Alzo for allowing consumers to purchase superior quality products at a price no higher than the unpleasant and unsatisfying bulbs in the store. Hope this helps!

(More customer reviews)Skip this item unless you 'absolutely' need a non-AC worklight with a large spring holding clamp. First of all, the long arms are not flexible and mostly just get in the way. Secondly, one of the LED's burned out after the first use. And thirdly, the much smaller, cheaper work lights that Amazon sells give just as much light (and often much MORE light) as this RiteLite. I would recommend the Streamlight clipmate. It's small, has a ball and socket rotation mechanism attached to a SMALL clamp (which is all you usually need), and the LED's are bright enough to allow you to see something more clearly even if working in a bright office environment (such as inside a computer or fax machine). At a better price, but giving just as much light as the over-priced RiteLight, Amazon sells the Kaito 6-LED Reading lamp. It doesn't have the long arms of the RiteLite, but you can put it on something like a box, etc, to allow it to shine down into the area in which you are working. But as mentioned above, if you really need BRIGHT light, the Stremloght clipmate is the choice.

I'm glad I dismiss most 1 star comments, because whats shown is exactly what I received. Yes, it is a dark brown when it is not lit, but is very close to the picture once its turned on. If it wasn't dark glass, the design would be washed out once lit. The glass appears to be hand-blown, and does have some imperfections. One had a tiny dimple, and the other was slightly "out-of-round" causing it to not hang perfectly level. I will return that one for a replacement.

(More customer reviews)When I purchased my CCI Moonrays 95669 Solar Powered Metal Path Light, 6-Pack, Copper I decided from the beginning to switch out batteries in half of the lamps with the other battery types because I had read the other review for this battery pack.
Honestly, I found these work better through the night over a longer period of time. Sometimes I wake up very early in the morning for work, and have noticed that the lamps with these batteries have lasted longer and brighter into the morning. It has been a couple months since i got the lamps and will definitely purchase these batteries again.
I decided to do a little research on Wikipedia to find the reason.
These Moonrays batteries are Nicd, on the page it says "The primary trade-off with NiCd batteries is their higher cost"
But the advantage it says is
"the NiCd battery has a lower self-discharge rate (for example, 10% per month for a NiCd, versus 30% per month for a traditional NiMH under identical conditions"
that means that over time, these batteries will hold their charge longer than others.
The other type of rechargeable batteries are the NiMH batteries, and their page also says
"NiMH cells historically had a somewhat higher self-discharge rate (equivalent to internal leakage) than NiCd cells. This is not a problem in the short term, but makes them unsuitable for many light-duty uses where the battery would normally be expected to last many months or years."Wow I'm a nerd. I opted in for a return to which they finally responded. I was notified I could return the items to them for a refund - less 25% restocking fee... curious that they restock broken merchandise. I would not recommend them since if you get a bad product like I did you will be paying shipping and handling to them so they can restock their trash can.

In the first, we stated that we were happy with the product in terms of ease of installation (absolutely the easiest option when illumination of a piece of art is required) and light quality (is soft, pleasant, but strong) BUT dissatisfied with one of the light bulbs, which went out in less than 24 hours and proved to be expensive and arduous to replace. Since then, the company contacted us with an apology and offer to send replacements or refund. Thus, we would now like to express overall contentment with our purchase and customer service experience. We didn't expect anything to come out of our review and it made all the difference in the world that our complaint was immediately and fairly addressed. And, once more, we found the product to be extremely convenient to install, reasonable priced, and functional, especially in comparison to other picture light options, which we investigated ad nauseum.

(More customer reviews)Package was missing the mounting crossbar -- luckily I had one like it in a junk box from some other fixture, so I proceeded with installation. The base is very flimsy and designed such that the electrical box MUST be absolutely flush with (or sunken below) the drywall. I had some problems with this since the box was proud of the ceiling by about 1/16 inch and I couldn't get the fixture base stable against the ceiling. I finally fabricated some spacers to take care of that.
Installing the bulbs was another adventure. The ballast wires are crowded, the plugs are of poor quality and difficult to connect, and the metal clips are really tight -- I thought multiple times I was going to break the bulbs during installation.
Finally, the manufacturer's description claims the light output to be equivalent to (2) 100w incandescent bulbs. No way... More like (1) 75w or (1) 100w at most. And there is no way to route the wires/plugs such that they don't make some kind of visible "shadow" when the fixture is turned on. I will attempt to upload a picture that shows the shadows.
If it hadn't been so difficult to get installed, or if it was someplace more visible than a closet, I'd tear it down and send it back for a refund.

I was glad to find that both the canopy assembly and the fixture are grounded properly, and the kit is UL certified.
Installation is simple and gives a very secure fitting to the ceiling. My install was to a vaulted ceiling and the end result looks great. Everything is snug and solid.
