Its super soft and light weight, its not heavy which means he needs a second blanket for warmth in the winter. This works well for him as he wants to sleep with it every night so its perfect for the summer as well. The only negative of this blanket is that it is a bit dark (it is exactly like the picture) and not a bright red, but he loves it and that's all that matters.
