(More customer reviews)When the item first arrived it was very poorly packed and damaged. Amazon was very good about getting me a replacement. The second package looked much better but I had to search around for all of the screws and hardware as they were loose in the box. The instructions for assembly were not clear and the parts did not fit together easily. After assembling the item I noticed that there was some residue or glue on the top of the cabinet. I do not want to have to disassemble the item and return it again so I have kept it. Overall, for the price I paid I was very dissapointed in the quality of the product. It solved my storage problem but caused more trouble than I had ever anticipated.

(More customer reviews)This appears to be a solidly made piece of furniture.It came without flaws and is a nice deep brown that is very popular right now. We really enjoy the feature where you can flip the top over(albeit it is very heavy) and use it for a tray table. It fits very nice in our space conscious media room. We use two together it for gaming chairs, ottomans and tray tables. Less than a week into it my daughter scratched the leather top with a microphone. I haven't tried to get it out yet.

Guidecraft Butterfly Toy Box Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this from Amazon and when the item arrived, we realized that it is simply cheap particle board. There are no directions, just a hard to understand diagram that tells you nothing. We might as well have built you own toy box as to try to put this thing together. The hardware that it came with was cheap and the screws kept breaking and stripping. I called guidecraft directly and they offered me a refund or another product since the original had broken screws in it. When I got the second shipment I was finally able to get it together very carefully and after I went and bought my own hardware. The pre-drilled holes were also in the wrong spots so we had to pre-drill the holes ourselves. We could have built and decorated our own for the time it took us to get this together, and it probably would have been cheaper. Yes it is beautiful once you get it together (Which is why we stuck with it) but it is not worth the hassle and I am sure there is much better product out there for this price.

I would have preferred more expensive bedroom furniture, but the staircase in this 125 year old house is too narrow and has too many corners to bring anything much larger than a coffee table upstairs. So... assemble-it-yourself has been the only way to go. I purchased the media stand from this collection first, and was pleased with the sturdy construction, the attractive finish and hardware, and ease of assembly. This dresser was no different, and I'm pleased with it for the price. The drawers glide easily (plastic runners) and have stops to prevent pulling them out too far, they're plenty roomy. The ebony color is very dark chocolate and black with a soft satin gloss. It's quite neutral and blends well with antique Persian carpets and Tiffany style lamps, though it would work with modern decor, too. Most of the pieces come with a touch-up marker to fix nicks or scratches. I've also purchased the tall chest, nightstand, and mirror. They're all good, basic pieces to decorate around, and reasonably priced for what you get.

(More customer reviews)The KidKraft Activity Center is just like the Lego branded one except this one is priced almost $100 less and has stools rather than chairs.
It was easy to build and is convinient form my 6 year old boy and 9 year old daugthter to use.
Legos fit in the center and the table tops on each station can be flipped for a flat surface. We only use Lego's so I cannot comment on Duplo.
The delivery in Texas was quick and my children play on it every day.

Pantry Storage Cabinet - White Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this cabinet to fit a specific space in the kitchen of the house we are renting. For that purpose, the measurements of the cabinet were nearly perfect. I'd like to point out, though, that the cabinet is 100% particle board, not wood as it states in the official description. Also, the "butcher block finish top" is just colored laminate like the rest of the cabinet. The backing is a heavy-duty cardboard, and only the exposed edges of any part are finished with laminate. That said, it seems fairly sturdy and of decent quality. I was disappointed that the door face arrived with some scratches, albeit subtle ones, and a chip off of the white laminate. With an item so heavy, though, who's going to return it? This piece must be fully assembled, which I was able to do mostly on my own at 40+ weeks pregnant in about 1 hour. I needed my husband's help tightening a few screws, turning the unit over (it is quite heavy), and attaching the door. In the final analysis, I'm generally happy with it, as it meets a very specific need for us (as stated above). If I didn't need something just this size, I'm not sure I would feel quite as positive, though.

John Louis Home Standard Closet Shelving System, Red Mahogany Review

(More customer reviews)I bought 2 of these systems for our master bedroom closet about a year ago and I must say they have really made a big diffence. Several different categories of satisfaction so I'll list them to make it easy as possible:
Aesthetics: The wood,finish and hardware are of considerable quality and look great. I chose the Red Mahogany finish and it truly makes a difference in our closet (we had those regular white wire organizing systems). The edges are soft yet masculine enough to appeal to any husband/significant other and the shelves are reminiscent of a spa-type atmosphere.
Options: The kits include design ideas for numerous closet sizes and configurations and have everything you need. Hardware, drywall reinforcements, touch-up stain, diagrams.
Ease of installation: Although capable of being a 1-person installation - the job would be much simpler with 2. Simple enough for the novice handyman, tools required are limted and basic - if you have a hammer, power drill/screwdriver and a saw of some type, you're in business. Obviously, the right tool for the right job makes any task easier, but if your toolchest is limited, the above mentioned items will easily get you thru this project. Instructions are easy to follow and installation time isn't long and drawn out; it took me working by myself to completely install one kit approx. 2.5hrs (for our closet, 1 kit outfits one side with some remaining pieces). Be sure to install into as many studs as possible for strength. I hit 90% of the studs in our closet and the shelving is strong enough to hold the weight of my 3-year-old who decided to sit on one of the lower shelves (shoe shelf/rack) to help daddy work:-)
Modifications: If you're really handy and like a challenge, take any remaining pieces to really go all out. Since i needed 2 kits for our closet, the pieces remaining from both kits gave me enough shelving and hardware to place a shelf above the entrance to our walk-in, plus 2 extra stringers and 1 shelf to outfit the back wall of our closet (I then matched the wood and built cabinet doors, drawers and 2 more shelves to give my wife a built-in jewelry drawer).
Pricing/Cost: For the price of the 2 kits (and the extra work/modifications I added) I saved literally thousands of dollars doing the job myself and we got exactly want we wanted in our closet!!
Delivery: I opted for standard delivery and the kits arrived well packaged and by UPS. Each kit weighed approx. 80Lbs. And surprisingly, delivery only took about 10 days

But I have a very nice kitchen with beautiful cherry wood cabinets so I didn't want something that looked out-of-place or like it belonged in a utility room. This cabinet delivered! It is beautiful. I am a 41-year-old single mother and there is no man in my house to put things together for me. I am so proud to say that I was able to do it myself and the unit is so well made there were no issues at all with holes not matching up or being in the wrong place. And, everything works, even the doors lock! This is a truly lovely piece of furniture.
