(More customer reviews)So here's the deal. I installed this switch for the fan I just installed, lots of work and was excited when it was done and worked. Not being an electrician and all of that. Several days later I would come into the room and lo and behold it would be on. Then I installed a light kit, imagine waking up at midnight and seeing the light come on all by its' lonesome.
I called Hunter, the problem is a common one and really stems from the poorly written instructions and the fact that the symptom is not addressed in the trouble shooting guide.
The switch is a radio frequency device and therefore stray radio signals bouncing around the house, through the hood, etcetera can trigger its operation. This was a common problem in early garage door openers and car alarms, those manufacturers fixed it by having the devices reset a new code after each use.
Your fix, is to remove the switch from the wall, pull the battery then pull the fan down and reset the dip switches in the receiver. I may take more than one try as there is no way you can easily pinpoint what is triggering your switch. The complete instructions on how to do this are in the installation instructions which may also be downloaded from the Hunter website.

(More customer reviews)Even I think color-changing light is a bit tacky, but hey, this is a hummingbird! A clear acrylic hummingbird tops a two-part stake. A rechargeable battery is included and must be inserted into one half of the stake prior to assembly. The solar panel is a disk encircling the stake. The hummingbird is well-done. There's some detail; it's not just a blob.
This baby stays lit all night. It's still lit at sunrise. The LED is a pretty bright light. This piece makes a bold statement at night. That said, it's virtually invisible during the day. I do like it, and will look for more solar/LED lighting now that I've tried this. If you prefer yard art with a little class, you won't like it. If you're into novelty, you will.
Edit May 9, 2009: I stored the unit in the garage over the winter. The solar panel was slightly damaged by wind and rain during the summer. But when I brought it out this year, it still worked, by golly. I bought another one and posted some photos.

1. The battery replacement cover is on the front (you do not have to take out the whole unit or take screw out to replace batteries
2. The 1 touch backlight is very convenient to look things up at night
3. The ability to program the device off the wall while sitting down comfortably with the manual and pieces of paper is convenient
4. The one touch feature to tell the device that you home for the day wthout other intervention is convenient.
other than that, what can I say? it works!

(More customer reviews)I had to have this the first time I saw it!! A friend sent me an email photo of the full size 40" LEG LAMP. The full size model was just too expensive. I couldn't justify spending that kind of money on something I'm only going to drag out once a year. The 20" model is great. I only payed 40 bucks for it at SUNCOAST VIDEO.
MAKES A EXCELLENT HOLIDAY GIFT FOR THAT HARD-TO-BUY-FOR FRIEND WHO LOVES THE MOVIE.
It's a realistic replica of the one Daren McGavin receives in CHRISTMAS STORY. The lamp shade is made with a nice fabric, it's the right color, and it has the cheesy fringe around the bottom. The leg is wrapped in a beautiful fishnet stocking and has a standard socket on top. It also lights up inside the leg. Which begs the question; how am I gonna get inside the leg to change THAT bulb once it burns out? The lamp doesn't come with instructions or a switch on the cord. There is a sticker on the socket with a WARNING: DUE TO THE RISK OF FIRE DO NOT TO USE ANYTHING LARGER THAN A 40 WATT BULB, so you won't catch the lamp shade on fire. Also the leg stands a tiny bit crooked, which is okay because it's supposed to look cheesy. Just don't tighten the shade all the way down and it will level out and hang nicely. Mine is displayed prominently in my living room window. Who needs a Christmas tree?...
After all, "IT'S A MAJOR AWARD!!"

(More customer reviews)Yep folks...it's a light bulb. And as far as light bulbs go, this one does in fact light up. I would love to give this review 5 stars, but sadly I cannot. Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled that this thing shines like crazy. But the picture shows 2 bulbs and it only ships with one. Okay, fine, you got me...the description says "1 Pack", but like most other lazy Americans, I see a picture and grunt with approval. In this case, I grunted twice since the photo shows 2 bulbs.
When the package arrived, I breathlessly anticipated the joy I would have with me and my two light bulbs dancing through the streets together. As I unpacked the oversized Amazon box and rooted through the mounds of bubble wrap, the excitement in the room could be cut with a knife. My glee turned to sorrow as I realized the that there was too much of not enough bulb. Whomever perpetrated this cruel trick on humanity should be reported to the authorities, given the destruction of the 'kid on Christmas morning feeling' that I had when the package arrived.
